Fastnet Lighthouse is known as “The Teardrop of Ireland" as is was the last sight of Ireland for the many emigrants as they sailed from Queenstown Harbour, Co Cork to their new life in America. Designed by William Doughlass, it is reputed to be the tallest and widest lighthouse in Ireland.
