The fair day was a tradition that went back hundreds of years. Farmers gathered from early morning in the village bringing with them cattle, sheep or pigs. Animals were sold after some serious bartering and with a slap of a hand, the deal was struck. The fair day was also a huge social day for all, neighbours and far away friends would meet up to exchange their stories.
